Safety: There are some special considerations for use of this product to prevent injury.
  • DANGER: Never open the lid or remove the top while heating.
  • DANGER: do not overfill percolator pot, overfilling will result in scalding water coming out of the spout when it begins to boil.
  • DANGER: if the percolator overflows, turn stove off and allow percolator and its contents to cool before handling - this will be difficult/impossible with the MSR (PocketRocket and SuperFly) stoves if the spout of the pot is placed over the gas flow turn valve. When using these stoves, assure the pot is not overfilled AND that the spout is not located above the gas flow turn valve.
  • do not allow percolator to boil out the water until it is dry. The unit may become damaged.
  • brewed coffee grounds may be very hot. Handle with care.
  • keep out of reach of children and pets.

Always respect hot liquids.

What is the best way to percolate coffee?
1. Fill percolator with desired amount of water. Do not fill past the 6 Cups mark on the outside of the pot.
2. Fill the basket with 1 Tablespoon of coffee for every 2 cups of water. (6 Cups = 3 Tablespoons) (6 Cups = 9 teaspoons)
3. Insert basket, assure clear knob is tight, close lid and heat at the highest setting.
4. When coffee is seen "perking" in the clear knob, reduce the heat to 1 perk every 2 seconds.
5. Gauge the strength of the coffee in the clear knob until desired color is achieved.
